Congratulations to our partners at Abbey Road and Linc Housing on the grand opening of Sun Commons in North Hollywood, LA! This affordable housing development is adjacent to Penny Lane Centers, the nonprofit that provides supportive services at Sun Commons as well as 6,000 children, youth, and families. State senator Caroline Menjivar spoke about her own struggle with homelessness when her family fell victim to predatory lending as she was entering college and acknowledged the importance of creating more affordable housing.
Sun Commons offers 103 units, 51 of which are furnished, permanent supportive housing units reserved for homeless and chronically homeless and subsidized with section 8 vouchers. The remaining 50 units are targeting low-income households earning at or below 60% of area median income (AMI) with two units for on-site management and maintenance personnel.
A special thanks to the representatives at Comerica, one of the investors in this life-changing development, for attending!
