The former site of an elementary school will be given a new life as 120 affordable homes with an on-site early learning center in Jacksonville, FL. Our developer partner Ability Housing recently celebrated the groundbreaking at Village at Lake Forest, which will offer affordable housing for households earning up to 60% and 80% of the area median income (AMI).
Lake Forest Elementary has been closed since 2019, but in order to celebrate the property's past, the learning center run by Duval County Public Schools (DCPS) will be available for families at the new development and neighbors. Not only that, but 25% of the units will be reserved for housing DCPS faculty and staff!
NEF is excited to be involved in an inspiring development where housing and education go hand-in-hand to benefit the community and beyond. Thank you to Bank of America and The Community Preservation Corporation for being key financial partners on Village at Lake Forest.
