Last month, our partners at Mercy Housing broke ground on the first affordable housing project funded by the Bay Area Housing Innovation Fund, 1633 Valencia St. This visionary fund demonstrates the power of public-private partnerships in community development and housing. The groundbreaking was supported and attended by the mayor, city officials, and local leaders.
Developed on a former Sears parking lot in the Mission District in San Francisco, 1633 Valencia St. will provide 145 units of senior housing, especially those at risk or experiencing homelessness. These homes will be set aside for low-income seniors earning up to 50% of the area median income (AMI). Seniors already living in the area will be prioritized and able to safely and comfortably age in place.
Congratulations to all those involved in making these affordable homes possible! Learn more here.
