Our very own Emily Chen was thrilled to join our partners at Project Freedom, Inc. and the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (NJHMFA) at the ribbon-cutting of Freedom Village at Hamilton Woods in Hamilton (Mercer County), New Jersey!
This incredible affordable housing and supportive housing development prioritizes inclusivity through accessibility for individuals with disabilities. Nearly 10% of the Hamilton community live with a disability and our partners knew it was crucial to build homes that would help empower residents to live independently and reach their full potential.
Now, the community has 72 new one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments that are completely ADA compliant with a quarter of the units designated for individuals with developmental disabilities or mental illness. Additionally, residents have access to on-site social services and coordinators through Catholic Charities of the Archdioceses of Newark, ensuring a holistic experience that supports and uplifts residents.
