Kent Multicultural Village will Foster Belonging & Connection with 233 Affordable Homes in Kent, WA

Kent MCV (57)
April 07, 2026

More than 37,000 Washingtonians with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) face housing insecurity.

The Kent Multicultural Village (MCV) seeks to tackle this issue by offering 233 affordable housing units once it's constructed. Co-developed by Mercy Housing Northwest and Open Doors for Multicultural Families, MCV will offer 47 units designed for individuals with IDD as well as 135 family-sized units -- more than 50% of the total are two, three, and four-bedroom apartments! The development is 100% affordable, serving families earning between 30-60% of the area median income (AMI).

To foster belonging and connection within the community, MCV will have an early learning center and a families resource center on-site and the building is a few minute walk to the Kent Des Moines light rail station. NEF is thrilled to support a truly intentionally-designed development that holistically brings people of all ages, abilities, and cultures together.
