In Santa Clara County, nearly 8,000 agricultural workers face a severe housing shortage, with only about 1,800 homes available. That’s why South County’s investment in affordable housing matters.

At the recent groundbreaking of The Magnolias in Morgan Hill, CA, partners Eden Housing, Inc., the County of Santa Clara, and the City of Morgan Hill celebrated a major step forward. Nearly half of the 65 units will be set aside for agricultural workers, and all units are affordable to households earning between 30-50% of the area median income (AMI). Residents are close to public transportation, grocery stores, public parks, and schools.

NEF champions efforts to expand the creation and preservation of affordable housing like The Magnolias, especially those that support underserved populations and communities. Learn more about the groundbreaking and development here.
